How the town is put together — stone near the Abbey, later estates toward the Braes, and the places we also visit beyond the burgh boundary.

A town on the White Cart

Paisley grew as a weaving and thread-mill centre beside the White Cart Water, with Paisley Abbey anchoring the older core. Mill buildings and sandstone streets still set the tone in parts of the centre; Fountain Gardens opens a green pause near Love Street; to the south, Gleniffer Braes lift into open country. The town gave its name to the teardrop paisley pattern — a local fact about place, not a claim about our work.

Most of Paisley sits in postcode districts PA1, PA2 and PA3. That is geography for finding the house, not a premises code for this company.

West End, Castlehead and Oakshaw

These districts hold much of the town’s sandstone character — elevated streets, larger villas and terraces that need careful measuring when windows change. Streets around the Abbey share that stone palette and a tighter historic grain.

Charleston, Seedhill and Shortroods

Closer to everyday town routes and the Cart corridor, with a mix of older stock and later infill. Ferguslie Park and Gallowhill tell a twentieth-century story of planned housing and renewal.

Foxbar, Glenburn and Hunterhill

These climb toward more open ground, where wind and weather off the Braes start to matter for glazing choices. Ralston, Meikleriggs and Lochfield add further residential depth — quieter streets and later houses that still face the same Renfrewshire climate.
